Hi! I’m Nathalie Kalae Johnson, pronounced Kuh-Lie. I have been in Brooklyn for nearly 7 years by way of Seattle! I grew up in a small town in the Pacific Northwest, which has super influenced my style and aesthetic. I am a child of the 90s and was always in inspired by Seattle’s grunge scene. I appreciate easy, wash & go styles, lots of shape and texture and natural hair color that enhances those shapes and textures. I am part Native Hawaiian, queer and “plus size”. I have spent a lifetime working on becoming comfortable in my body and figuring out a style that makes me feel my best and most confident. What I have come to realize is that it changes, and some days I feel better about myself than others. I feel so fortunate to be able to play a role in another’s journey to self love, and that is honestly my favorite part of this job. I have 15 years experience behind the chair, and my technical skill only continues to grow. Recently I have been leaning into hair cutting, and find that I am more inspired by getting your hair to it’s healthiest, so we can create the best shape and style for you. Currently I charge a flat rate for my services, I work with a “if your hair needs it, it gets it” approach. I don’t believe in having to pick and choose what we need to do. We do what’s best for your hair, every time! My goal has always been to be able to make my services affordable for everyone - because every single person deserves to feel like the best version of themselves. I am so pleased to be able to offer sliding scale appointments, no questions asked. Cancellation Policy
I charge a cancellation fee of 100% of the service for no-shows or cancellations within 48 hours of the scheduled appointment.
